Heartwarming: Man Learns Chinese To Propose To Girlfriend In Her Native Language

This woman thought she was going to film a cute dance video with her boyfriend — but he had other ideas. While she wasn’t looking, he got down on one knee and began to propose in Chinese!

Yinrun didn’t expect it at all. Her shocked face is one for the books. She looks so animated and surprised that he’s down on one knee proposing, let alone proposing in her native language!

He grabbed her hand and began speaking in well-practiced Chinese.

“Huang Yinrun, I wanted to give you a special message, and I wanted to do so in your native language,” he began…

“Because of you, everything is the best. I am so, so grateful to have you in my life,” he went on, sharing more sweet thoughts with his soon-to-be wife.

Yep, that’s right: She said yes!

Yirun wasn’t the only one who erupted in total excitement and glee!

Folks had a lot to say in the comments about this precious proposal in Chinese. Even the Duolingo Owl chirped in:

“If he doesn’t learn a language for you he’s not the one.”

We can’t argue with that. This sort of love and intentionality is a good sign for their future marriage.
