SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT
Magical: Dancers Appear To Be Floating In Traditional North Caucasus Dance
Creative expression comes in many forms, including dance. The art of dance is something that every culture from every part of the world has in some form. It’s so innate, in fact, that even babies naturally find themselves unable to resist certain songs. Still, the exact way we dance can vary, depending on where we grew up. For Irena Janataeva, traditional dance moves found in North Caucasus culture hold a special place in her heart.
Irena Janataeva is a talented Balkarian performer. She’s earned quite a name for herself and even works as the Artistic Director of a dance studio. Here, you’ll find her sharing the joy that comes along with traditional North Caucasus dance moves. This includes a move that makes dancers appear as though they are floating through the air. See this breathtaking dance for yourself in the video below!

Their movements are magical.
To say that these dancers look like they’re floating is certainly not an exaggeration. It’s no wonder folks in the comment section have admitted to watching this clip on a loop — it’s simply mesmerizing!
In that particular clip, we see Irena perform with her dance group. They are called Ensemble Balkaria, and they never fail to stun audiences with their elegant movements. You can experience more of them in the clip below.
While some folks find the floating nature of the first dance to be a bit unsettling, others insist that there is beauty in this traditional move. Plus, the talent required to be successful at this type of dancing deserves to be recognized! 👏
